Memodyne Supplement Facts Label: Every Line Retyped

Written by the Memodyne editorial team · Last updated · 8 min read · Medical review below

Quick answerThe Memodyne label lists a serving of 1 capsule and 30 servings per bottle.

Five of the seven lines carry ** because no Daily Value exists for them. The directions say one capsule daily with 8 oz of water.

The label image shows four parts side by side. On the left are the suggested use, the caution and the distributor. In the middle is the front panel with the product name. On the right is the Supplement Facts panel.

The numbered notes match each part. They are written from the label image, not from ads.

Retyped from the label image so it can be read and searched. The bottle in your hand is the final word.

The serving is one capsule, and there are 30 in a bottle. Every ingredient line has its own amount. There is no proprietary blend, which makes this label easy to check. Our ingredients page explains each line in plain English.

On the bottle, the amino acid lines carry a double asterisk. In the retyped panel above, the same mark is shown as a dagger.

No Daily Value

What does the double asterisk (**) mean?

It means no Daily Value has been set for that ingredient. U.S. rules require each ingredient and its amount per serving, and a symbol for anything without a Daily Value (21 CFR 101.36).

Five lines carry the mark: both arginine forms, both citrulline forms and beta-alanine. Only niacin and calcium have a %DV. Niacin is 47% and calcium is 1.5%.

A blank %DV does not mean an ingredient is unsafe or useless. It only means there is no set daily target to compare it with.

Salt forms

What are AKG, HCl and malate?

The four amino acid lines that come in two forms each, read from the label.
Label lineWhat the form isPrintedWhat it means for the total
L-Arginine (base)Free arginine with nothing attached200 mgAll of the weight is arginine
L-Arginine AKG 2:1 ExtractArginine joined to alpha-ketoglutarate (AKG)200 mgPart of the weight is AKG, not arginine
L-Citrulline HClCitrulline as a hydrochloride salt100 mgA small part of the weight is the HCl
L-Citrulline MalateCitrulline joined to malic acid100 mgPart of the weight is malate, not citrulline

These are salt or carrier forms. A carrier helps the amino acid stay stable or mix well. The weight on the label includes the carrier.

So the label's 400 mg of arginine and 200 mg of citrulline are the weights of the forms. The pure amino acid in each capsule is a little less. The label does not say how much less.

Seven lines

Why does the label list seven lines when the brand list shows six?

The brand's ingredient list and graphic name six items. They leave out beta-alanine. The Supplement Facts panel prints Beta Alanine at 40 mg.

We follow the label, so we say it lists seven lines. If you ever see a bottle with a different panel, trust the bottle in your hand and call the order desk at +1 (302) 200-3480.

Beta-alanine is a sports ingredient. At 40 mg, the tingling it is known for is unlikely (Trexler et al., ISSN 2015). The beta-alanine page has the details.

Directions

What are the directions on the label?

The label reads, word for word:

“As a dietary supplement, take one (1) capsule daily with an 8 oz. glass of water. For best results, take 20-30 minutes before a meal with 8 oz of water or as directed by your healthcare professional.”

In short, one capsule a day with a full glass of water. A good time is 20 to 30 minutes before breakfast. The label also says: “Store in a cool, dry place away from heat and light.”

Do not take two to catch up on a missed day. Our how to use page has tips for building the habit.

Caution

What does the caution box say?

The caution text on the label reads:

“Do not exceed recommended dose. Pregnant or nursing mothers, children under the age of 18 and individuals with a known medical condition should consult a physician before using this or any dietary supplement. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if safety seal is damaged or missing.”

The caution box in plain words

  • Take no more than one capsule a day
  • Pregnant or nursing? Ask a physician first
  • Under 18? Ask a physician first
  • Any known medical condition? Ask a physician first
  • Store it where children cannot reach it
  • Check the safety seal before the first capsule

One more check the label leaves out

The label does not mention medicines. Arginine and citrulline may lower blood pressure and add to blood pressure drugs, nitrates and ED pills (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine) (WebMD, L-citrulline). Ask your doctor first if you take any of these. The side effects page and the L-arginine page explain why.

Distributor

Who distributes Memodyne, and where is it made?

The label prints this distributor block:

Distributed by: Gex Corporation LLP
PO Box 12730, Ogden, UT 84404
+1 (507) 448-8190
[email protected]

It also says: “Manufactured in the USA with globally sourced ingredients.” The factory is not named on the label.

Our files list lot reference MEM-26/ME-4547 and certificate reference MEM-4547-26-ME. No certificate of analysis has been published. The batch verify page shows how to read the lot on your own bottle.

Front label

What do the words on the front label mean?

The front panel carries three lines:

  • Cognitive Support Formula*
  • Focus · Clarity · Energy
  • 30 Capsules · Dietary Supplement

Read from the front label. The asterisk points to the FDA statement printed on the same label: these words were not evaluated by the FDA. The focus, clarity and energy icons are marketing, not test results.

The FDA statement reads: “*These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.” The FDA does not approve supplements before they are sold (FDA, Q&A on Dietary Supplements).

Honest note

Honest note: how do the label amounts compare with research?

L-ArginineAbout 12%

Memodyne lists 400 mg a capsule (two forms combined)
Research: 3.3 g a day in the memory trial (Mone et al., 2022)

Beta AlanineAbout 1%

Memodyne lists 40 mg
Research: 4 g a day, the low end in sports studies (Trexler et al., ISSN 2015)

NiacinAbout half

Memodyne lists 7.5 mg NE
Research: 16 mg NE a day for men (NIH ODS, Niacin)

Memory evidenceNo product study

No study of Memodyne has been published. The one arginine memory trial we found was small, short and used about 8 times more arginine. (Mone et al., 2022)

The label is clear and complete. But every amino acid amount is far below the doses used in studies, and no study of Memodyne itself has been published. The one arginine memory trial we found used about eight times more arginine, in frail older adults with high blood pressure.

FAQ

Memodyne label FAQ: questions people ask

What is the serving size of Memodyne?

One capsule. The bottle holds 30 servings, so it lasts 30 days at the label dose.

What do the two asterisks (**) mean on a supplement label?

They mean no Daily Value has been set for that ingredient. Amino acids like arginine and citrulline have no set daily target, so the %DV column is left blank.

What does NE mean next to niacin?

NE stands for niacin equivalents. It is the unit used to count niacin from every source, and 7.5 mg NE is 47% of the Daily Value.

What does AKG 2:1 mean on the arginine line?

The label does not define it. In the supplement trade it describes the ratio of arginine to alpha-ketoglutarate in the compound, and either way part of the 200 mg is the AKG carrier.

How do you take Memodyne according to the label?

Take one capsule a day with an 8 oz glass of water. For best results the label says 20 to 30 minutes before a meal, or as your healthcare professional directs.

Who should ask a doctor before taking Memodyne?

The label names pregnant or nursing mothers, anyone under 18 and anyone with a known medical condition. People on blood pressure medicine, nitrates or ED pills should also ask first.

Who distributes Memodyne?

The label says it is distributed by Gex Corporation LLP, PO Box 12730, Ogden, UT 84404. The factory that makes it is not named.

Is Memodyne made in the USA?

The label says “Manufactured in the USA with globally sourced ingredients.” It does not name the factory or say where each ingredient comes from.

Is Memodyne approved by the FDA?

No. The FDA does not approve dietary supplements before they are sold, and the label carries the standard statement that its claims were not evaluated by the FDA.
